Hard to find inspiration out doors

The weather is awful outside, and has been for the last couple of weeks.

Temperatures around 0 celcius with a mixture of rain and snow. Not the kind of weather that inspires you to grab your camera and run outside. Instead I’ve tried to shoot some time-lapse sequences of plants growing. My wife has been setting seeds for our summer balcony and the first sprouts have already appeared.

My plan is to shoot alot of time-lapses this spring and I figured I need some practice.

Technical

I shot the sequences with my D90 and 50MM 2.8 Sigma lens. I also used my 105mm Nikon lens but since there are no manual control of the aperture you get micro variations between shots due to the fact that the aperture opens wide between shots. This results in a lot of flickering in the compiled movie.

The clips are composed in lightroom 3 with the LRT plugin I also used LRTimlepse software to reduce flickering and create the smooth panning you can see in the movie. All clips were edited together in Imovie.

Enjoy
